In February 2023, EDUS was selected as a finalist in Spiralation 2022 - the flagship startup support programme run by ICTA in collaboration with industry partners. The selection put EDUS alongside a curated group of Sri Lankan early-stage technology companies, and this album captures the showcase, the mentor sessions, and the team energy from the day.
What Spiralation backs
Spiralation is built to help early-stage Sri Lankan startups cross the gap between idea and operational business. The programme combines mentorship, technical support, and the kind of external visibility that helps young companies attract their first paying customers, hires, and partners.
Why being a finalist matters
Being named a finalist is, by itself, a small thing. But for an early-stage company it carries practical weight. It signals to potential parents, tutors, and partners that EDUS has been independently vetted by people who know the local technology ecosystem. It opens doors that would otherwise stay shut.
More importantly, the process of preparing for Spiralation forced the team to write down what EDUS actually is, who it serves, and what makes the academic experience different. That document still informs how we describe ourselves today.
A leap, not a destination
Spiralation was an early validation - not a finish line. The work that came after - more students, more tutors, more syllabuses, more countries - mattered more than the recognition. But the recognition helped. Thanks to the Spiralation team and the mentors who spent time with us during the finalist round.
