In August 2024 EDUS joined the Yarl IT Hub Innovation Festival - one of the most prominent technology gatherings in Sri Lanka's Northern Province. The festival brings together startups, students, established companies, and the wider tech community to demo what they're building, exchange ideas, and meet the people behind the work.
Why EDUS participated
EDUS started in Jaffna. The local ecosystem - Yarl IT Hub, Yarl Geek Challenge, regional universities, and the long list of mentors who have supported us from day one - shaped what EDUS is today. Participating in the festival is one small way of giving that back, and of meeting the next generation of builders who will define what learning looks like in Sri Lanka.
What we shared at the festival
The team showcased EDUS's structured online learning model - live one-to-one classes, multi-syllabus tutor matching, parent reporting, and the cross-border student base that now stretches from Jaffna to Male, Chennai, Doha, and London. We met students considering tutoring careers, parents curious about online schooling, and other founders working on adjacent education problems.
A community we keep coming back to
Tech festivals are sometimes accused of being inward-looking. The Yarl IT Hub crowd is the opposite - rooted in the community, openly curious about what others are doing, generous with introductions. Photos in this album capture the visitor conversations, demo booths, and team moments from the day. Thanks to Yarl IT Hub for the invitation.
